Second hand planes

01 October 2025
My journey with handplanes, and with woodworking for that matter, started around 2 years ago. I first got into the hobbie to build a pair of speakers, which later became two pairs of speakers and a subwoofer. I only used power tools to make them, but while looking around for different wood types for speakers I came across handtool woodworking youtubers, and got hit hard by how handtools are utilized. Going to one of the only woodworking shops with handtools also helped, I bought my first handsaw and gauge, and from there the search for my first handplane started (the ones in the shop weren't afordable). I first headed to Wallapop, a second hand market app, and since I never had a plane in my hands I wanted to buy it in person, and only had one option at the time in my city, so I bought a 4 1/2 Acorn plane.
